Stitch Trail is an offline embroidery project tracker for iPhone. We built it so you can plan projects, track stitches, and organize threads without creating an account or sending your work to our servers.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is stored, and what choices you have. By using Stitch Trail, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Stitch Trail does not collect personal information on our servers. The app stores content you create locally on your iPhone, including:

Project details — names, notes, fabric info, stitch counts, and status
Pattern references — titles, grid progress, and imported preview images or PDFs you add
Thread inventory — colors, brands, quantities, and palette labels
Photos you attach to projects, sessions, or patterns
Stitching session logs, counters, and progress milestones
App preferences such as theme and display settings

We do not run advertising, sell your data, or use third-party analytics SDKs inside the app.

How your data is stored

All project data is saved on your device using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData). Backups you create with the export feature are files you choose to save or share — we do not receive them.

Widgets, Live Activities, and the Share extension may read a small snapshot of your active project through Apple's App Group container on your device. This data never leaves your iPhone unless you explicitly export or share it.

Camera & photos

Stitch Trail may request access to features on your device only when you use them:

Camera — to scan QR labels on thread storage boxes
Photo Library — to pick cover photos, pattern references, session photos, and thread color samples

Images you select are stored locally as part of your project data. We do not upload them to external servers.

Sharing & exports

When you export a backup, share a project summary, or send content through the iOS Share sheet, you control where that information goes. Stitch Trail does not monitor or store shared exports.

If you use iCloud Backup for your iPhone, Apple may include app data in your encrypted device backup according to your Apple ID settings. That process is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.

Your choices

You are always in control of your data:

Edit or delete projects, patterns, threads, and photos inside the app at any time
Revoke Camera or Photo Library access in iOS Settings → Stitch Trail
Remove all app data by deleting Stitch Trail from your device
Create local backups with the in-app export feature before removing the app

Because we do not operate user accounts or cloud databases, we cannot retrieve data after you delete the app.

Children's privacy

Stitch Trail is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is designed for crafters managing their own embroidery projects on a personal device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the newest version. Continued use of Stitch Trail after an update means you accept the revised policy.
